LOS ALTOS HILLS – Sophomore Gennesis Orellano Moreta scored 15 points while freshman Alexa Flores added 13 points to lead Gavilan College in a 75-49 loss at Foothill College in the Rams' 2023-24 season opener on Wednesday.
With just seven players on the active roster, it was tough for the Rams to keep pace with Foothill. Gavilan fell behind 32-16 after the first quarter and were down 45-25 at halftime.
Angelina Marquez and Kaylei Neander both scored 7 points each, Alexa Martinez added 4 points, and Brianna Hernandez chipped in with 3 points.
The Rams and new head coach Carlton Fortenberry will look to earn win No. 1 on Monday (Nov. 6) when the squad travels to Contra Costa Community College for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
