Rams’ Dei’Maujae Moore named State, Northern California Player of the Week
Gavilan College football's Dei'Maujae Moore hauled in a pair of huge honors on Thursday.
The sophomore defensive back was named the State Defensive Player of the Week by the California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA) as well as the American Division Defensive Player of the Week by the Northern California Football Conference (NCFC) for his impressive play in the Rams' 40-13 win at Contra Costa College on Saturday.
Moore, originally out of Mesa High School in Arizona, had two big interceptions, broke up a pair of passes, and had a tackle to help lead the Gavilan defense. The 13 points allowed in Saturday's contest was a season-low for the Rams.
Gavilan is back in action at home on Saturday (Sep. 20) when the Rams host San Joaquin Delta College in a non-league game. Kick off is set for 6 p.m. at Gilroy High School.
