Rams’ Wyatt Barton, Orlando Lewis sign with four-year programs
A dynamic duo of Gavilan College baseball players is headed to the next level. Rams' standouts Wyatt Barton and Orlando Lewis have signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year colleges.
The two are staying in California with Barton headed to Stanislaus State and Lewis transferring to Menlo College in Atherton. Barton and Lewis made it official on Monday at a signing ceremony on campus.
Barton recently closed out a stellar two-year pitching career for the Rams. He was a two-year All-Coast Conference South Division selection, earning second-team honor this past spring and honorable mention accolades as a freshman.
Originally out of Hollister High School, the right-hander made a team-high 15 starts on the mound and led the Rams in 2026 with a 5-3 record, 83.1 innings, 53 strikeouts, and a 4.86 earned run average.
Stanislaus State competes at the NCAA Division II level as a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Warriors are led by head coach Kenny Leonesio.
Lewis wrapped up his sophomore season this spring and was a standout on defense. Playing primarily first base during the season, committed just 4 errors over a team-high 216 total chances for a .981 fielding percentage.
At the plate, Lewis hit .266 with 33 hits, 7 doubles, and 20 RBI. He drew a team-high 24 walks and scored 25 runs.
Menlo competes at the NCAA Division II level as a member of the PacWest Conference. The Oaks are led by head coach Mike Givens.
