September Athletes of the Month

Anna Demario and Tyler Davis have been named as the Gavilan College Student-Athletes of the month for September as announced by athletic Director Jamie Adams and the Department of Athletics.

Demario a graduate of Gilroy High, is in her first year at Gavilan College and is a member of the volleyball team. As an outside/opposite hitter, she led the team in kills with 66 to go along with 44 digs and 14 aces in eight matches.

Davis is a sophomore running back for the football team. In the three games played in September, the Christopher high product rushed for 365 yards, had 93 receiving yards and 128 yards in returns. He was leading the state in all-purpose yardage during this time.

Since 2008, the Rams Athletic Department has recognized and honored its student-athletes for their accomplishments on and off the field. During each month of play, a Ram from each program that is in season will be named student-athlete of the month. It is from this list of distinguished student-athletes, that the nominees for Student-Athlete of the Year will be selected from. Each student-athlete of the month will be honored with a certificate of recognition as well as having their names added to a perpetual plaque that will be proudly displayed in the foyer of the Bud & Jean Ottmar Memorial Gymnasium.
